Founded in 2023, Operation: Talk 2 Me Johnny is a non-profit organization that works to bring awareness and support to the mental health battle faced by our veterans and first responders.

November 22, 2021 changed our lives forever when we lost Sgt. John R. Little, CD to suicide. John was a father to four boys, a son, a brother, a fiancé and a friend.

He’ll say tons of nice things about this, but it’s far less than he would do for me or anyone else in his circle! Now you should be caught up @ordinary_canadian_dude but if you need help again tomorrow because that plague you have isn’t done, let me know … I’ll have a few more KMs for you any time you need it!

June 6th 1944 turned the tide on Nazi controlled Europe and was a major step in ending WWII. From a battle perspective it was a huge win for the Allied forces but it came at a significant cost. Many died that day and countless others were seriously injured. D-Day changed the outcome of the war, but it also changed the lives of soldiers and their families. Today, and everyday, we remember those to answered the call and stormed the beaches! We will remember them!

The T2MJ Memorial Day 2025 was a success! Did we have thousands of people? No. Did we raise as much money as we did in 2023? No. We did however forge relationships with new groups and people, we brought people together who had only ever connected online, or who had never met at all! That is what made it a HUGE success!

One individual who was new to us was @m.a.ritchie who reached out and offered his help with photography! Mark, a veteran, is retired and enrolled at Lambton in the photography program. His and his son’s pictures from the event are beautiful and captured the essence of the day!

Mark was also kind enough to gift me this challenge coin! We are so grateful to Mark and his son for reaching out, volunteering their time and for becoming great partners of Operation: Talk 2 Me Johnny!

Thanks you Mark! We look forward to working with you again next year!

They were troopers, received their ribbons with the silver cross on them and took the pictures and listened intently while we explained to them WHY receiving this was important.

A family friendly event from noon to 4pm featuring some animals for the kids to hang with, games and events for kids, vendors and entertainment. The afternoon wraps up with our Overcoming the Obstacles challenge which will consist of teams of 4 working relay style to get through an obstacle course based on fitness requirements veterans and first responders. Only 1 team will win, but no one will be left behind!

So it wasn’t surprising when today on #bellletstalk day this song came on. I haven’t listened to this song in a while, and after a long day of travelling and meetings I was exhausted and pleased to be listening to a “chill mix” courtesy of my Spotify DJ (anyone else live this function?!?!) … since he passed, I’ve struggled, something I’ve been open about, but 2024 in particular was very hard mentally for me. So I know John was sending me a little reminder that to bring him back I only have to think of him. I also know he was telling me that he is right beside me through my journey and reminding me to keep pushing through!

Not all days are easy, not all days are happy, but they are all worth fighting for and so are you!

We received an offer to buy it at the event and were able to raise $8,000 for The Freedom Ranch!! We know the bike is going to a good home and John would be thrilled that something he loves so much was able to help out such an amazing cause!

As we celebrated Father’s Day this weekend with John’s kids the meaning behind Men’s Mental Health Month and PTSI Awareness was screaming at us … these 4 young men are growing up without a father, my parents lost a son, I lost a brother and his fiancé lost a partner. He wasn’t alone, but he didn’t understand that. He was human, but he didn’t understand that. Now he is gone, and I don’t understand that!

Thank you @mentell.ca for all you do for this cause and to @allok.ca for putting together this impactful reel! Stay in the fight friends, we are stronger together!

They recognize that men, especially in the military and first responders community, often find it difficult to talk about PTSD and mental health struggles.

Final set complete 12 of 12 for the 2024 @allok.ca #22pushupchallenge

264 pushups over 12 hours … 27 months without Johnny. Sometimes it feels like a lifetime ago, sometimes it feels like yesterday … everyday hurts! I grieve for him, I grieve for the loss that my parents have to endure, I grieve for the future milestones he will never see his kids achieve and I grieve for me, the person I used to be and will never be again because the loss of John has impacted me so much it would be impossible not to have changed.

18 in 2021 and many others since then … it’s too many. Thank you from the bottom of my very broken heart to all who participated today. I’ll never talk to John again, I’ll never hear his laugh or watch him with his sons … but for someone else’s brother or sister you all made an impact, you all helped to show you care and you all helped someone stay in the fight!

Limits were explored and the fur babies had different ideas of how this play session should go but Papa Little still got a few pushed out in support of @allok.ca #22pushupchallenge personally I lost count … the chaos of these pups is too good! lol

Papa Little does have a heartfelt why to go along with his pushups…

“The loss of our son is more than I believed we could handle, and some days are harder than others. I am grateful for the support of a strong family unit and friends who are there at a moments notice. I think prior to losing John we may have taken that for granted but I now recognize that we all have a support system we just need to embrace it, even if they have 4 legs and run interference”

The power of the animals we have in our families is astounding at times … all it takes is a quick kiss or a head in your lap or walk with furry monster to help turn your mood around!
